Alopecia’ means hair loss that results in small circular patches or baldness on the scalp. This disease is suffered by men, women, and even children. Alopecia can take place anywhere on the body, however, it mostly affects the scalp.

There are male pattern baldness and female pattern baldness. It starts appearing in men around the age of thirty. It is hereditary and can happen to any man if there is anyone with baldness in his family. Diet also plays a major role in hair loss.

Female pattern baldness is not as bad as male pattern baldness. However, it is bad enough to cause low self-esteem and depression for a woman suffering female pattern baldness. This kind of hair loss is caused in women mainly due to hormonal imbalance. Hormones shrink hair follicles preventing the growth of new hair. Women worry the most with hair loss. With proper diet, hair care, and medications, women will be able to have new wonderful hair.

There could be many other reasons related to your excess hair loss.
