Sunburn means the burnt condition of the skin due to over- exposure to the sun; the affected area becomes darker than the normal skin color. Persons with fairer skin are more prone to suffer sunburns as they have lesser melanin in their body to protect the skin from the ultraviolet rays of the sun. Sandalwood: It gives a cooling and soothing effect on the sun-burnt skin. Apply a paste of sandalwood and rosewater on the affected area to get relief from the tingling sensation caused due to sunburn.
