Ayurvedic Herbs to Get Relief from Arthritis

Joint inflammation is known as arthritis. The most common types of arthritis are rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory disorder affecting many tissues and organs. However, mostly it affects synovial joints. Rheumatoid arthritis is considered as an auto-immune disease. Osteoarthritis is also known as degenerative arthritis and is the most common form of arthritis.

Arthritis can be caused due to weak digestive system, constipation, lack of exercise, and excess body weight. Stress also has a major role in causing arthritis. Apart from medication, physical rest is very important for curing arthritis. The following list of Ayurvedic herbs will help you to tackle the problems of arthritis.

Ashwagandha: Ashwagandha’s roots contain oil. This oil is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis very effectively.

Giloye: This herb is an anti-inflammatory. It cures rheumatoid arthritis very effectively.

Erand: Erand is also known as castor seeds. It contains taxolbumine resin and alkaloid resin, which help to treat rheumatoid arthritis.

Guggulu: Ayurveda considers this herb as the most effective to treat rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and other muscle and bone disorders.

Karpura: Karpura is applied on the affected area, and it gives a cooling and soothing effect. It helps to get relief from pain in the ligaments, muscles, joints and from stiffness.

Alfalfa: This Ayurvedic herb is considered as one of the most popular remedies for treating arthritis. Herbal tea that has alfalfa can be consumed for good results.

Black Cohosh: This herb acts as an anti-inflammatory for muscles. It also acts as an antispasmodic to muscles, nerves, and blood vessels. It works effectively on osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Turmeric: According to Ayurveda, turmeric is an excellent antiseptic. It acts as anti-inflammatory and it used to treat almost every problems effectively.

Neem: Neem is considered as anti-inflammatory. It helps to give relief to joint and muscle pain.

Ginger: Consuming ginger tea will get rid of swelling. It also helps to cure osteoarthritis.

Celery: Celery acts as anti-inflammatory. Celery seeds work effectively to treat rheumatism arthritis.

Sesame seeds: Sesame seeds contain copper, which is beneficial for arthritis.

The causes of arthritis can be due to several reasons. Ayurvedic herbs will not cure arthritis if it is caused due to overweight of the body. The body weight has to be reduced to ideal weight by doing exercise regularly. The joints mostly affected with overweight of the body are on the hips, knees, and ankles. For some people arthritis can be hereditary. People who have had major previous injuries can also develop arthritis. Older people suffer arthritis the most.
