Allergic Rhinitis – Help using Ayurvedic Remedies
Allergic rhinitis has become one of the common illnesses among several people. Allergies occur during spring, when flowers start blooming and produce pollens. This is the most common allergy that attacks people. Some people are allergic to airborne pollens of different plants, flowers, grass, weeds, and trees, while others suffer chronic allergic rhinitis throughout the year.
The symptoms of allergic rhinitis are runny nose, prolonged nasal congestion, constant sneezing, and itchy feeling in the eyes, ears, and throat. Allergies can also bring sore throat, loss of smell, loss of taste, tiredness and rashes on the skin. People with severe reaction to allergies may suffer from breathing problems, asthma, rapid heartbeats, headaches, body pain, and diarrhea.

To get rid of allergy, you should keep the pets and the carpets that breed dust mites away from you. You should also keep the house and the furniture free from dust. The pillows that you use can also be the reason for allergy. You can use pillows made of micro fiber.
According to Ayurveda, certain foods produce more mucous and they are known as Kapha foods such as dairy products, sugar, wheat, pepper, tomatoes, potatoes, grapefruits, bananas, oranges and preserved food. These foods can aggravate the symptoms of allergies.
Fish such as salmon, cod, trout, and legumes like black gram, chickpeas, corn are good to include in the diet. Fresh fruits and vegetables should also be included in the diet. Tea decoction with ginger, pepper, honey, lemon, and cardamom, is beneficial in curing allergies. The most important is to strengthen your immune system so that your body can fight allergies. Ayurveda recommends increasing the intake of food that is rich in Vitamin C.
Ayurvedic herbs that have anti-histamines, immune booster, and decongestants can treat allergic rhinitis. Daily intake of Indian gooseberry will improve your immunity. Shilajit loads your body with vitamins and minerals. This herb acts as powerful rejuvenator for mind and body. Ayurveda recommends this herb for people who have poor immune system. Ayurvedic herbs such as guggulu, pippali, amla, haritaki, black pepper, long pepper, and ginger also help to boost your immune system. Ayurvedic herbs and remedies take time to show the sign of improvement in your health. So if you have allergic rhinitis, don’t expect these herbs to cure you overnight.
