Quit Smoking with the help of Herbs

Almost every smoker is aware of the dangerous health problems that can be caused by smoking. However, in spite of several attempts to quit smoking, smokers seldom succeed in doing so. This is because of the nicotine that turns you into a severe addict. Nicotine is severely poisonous to the people who smoke.

I’m sure you know someone who has tried to quit smoking. Most have a real difficult time and usually end up still lighting up cigarettes just like before they tried to quit. Even if the smokers take firm decision to quit smoking, their mind and body might act strangely and violently for the want of nicotine.

Many of those who smoke are not aware of the number of diseases that can be caused from smoking. Probably those that do know some of them shrug it off as “that won’t happen to me.”

St John’s Wort: This herb is used for treating depression. Smokers are said to have depressive mood when they are trying to quit smoking. This herb helps to overcome depression. It boosts the mood and also gives positive mental attitude that help to quit smoking.

Wild Oats: These are used for reducing carving for nicotine, nervousness, anxiety, fatigue, and insomnia. It applies a soothing effect on the nervous system. It also helps to recover from the damage caused to the organs by smoking.

Lobelia: This toxic herb gives the similar effect of smoking. It relaxes the mind and body like nicotine does. This herb helps to control the cravings for smoking. It also helps to make the cigarettes taste bad for the smokers. The dosage of this herb should be reduced as the smokers become healthier. Also to be cautious, this herb gives the effect of nicotine and so, the smokers should be careful not to take overdose of this herb.

You can also go for Ayurvedic treatments and Ayurvedic therapies to get rid of smoking habits. Make sure that you do regular exercise and yoga, which can help you feel energetic and relaxing mind. Never give up the idea to quit smoking. Don’t lose your heart if you are not able to succeed in your first attempt; keep trying.
